Nylene Canada Inc. is proud to present its high-performance, recycled-content NATIQTM ENVIROWORK 30 nylon carpet fiber.
At NEOCON World's Trade Fair 2007, Chicago's Merchandise Mart, June 11-13.
CHICAGO, Ill – June 11, 2007
Kraus Carpets, Nood and Fortune Contract, all important Nylene carpet mill partners, are introducing new NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30 carpet styles at this year's show.
NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30 is part of Nylene's family of commercial and residential post-dyeable carpet fibers, which include NATIQ HOME, NATIQ ENVIROHOME, NATIQ WORK and now NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30. Just as NATIQ ENVIROHOME with recycled content is designed to meet the needs of environmentally concerned consumers, NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30 is developed for designers and architects who care about creating environmentally sustainable environments and buildings for their most demanding and environmentally conscious clients.
NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30 brings optimal style, guaranteed performance and environmental leadership to the carpet industry. With 30% recycled nylon 6 content, it offers all the design options and warranties required in today's commercial installations and is 100% recyclable.
"Creating and using environmentally sustainable products is no longer just an option today. It's become top of mind with consumers and office professionals alike," says Dave Moore, Nylene's Marketing Director. "Working to reduce the impact of the products we use--beginning at the manufacturing stage, through their useful life, and finally when it's time to dispose of them--is a commitment that more and more North Americans are taking to heart," continues Mr. Moore.
NATIQ ENVIROWORK 30 is a prime example of Nylene's deep commitment to saving natural resources through sustainable products and processes. With billions of pounds of carpet discarded each year and landfill capacity declining, there is a social necessity and responsibility to recycle and reuse carpet. "Since its inception, Nylene has worked to offer carpet manufacturers, end-users and consumers not only a range of beautiful, high-performance carpet fiber products, but also the means to reclaim and recycle the carpet at the end of its useful life," says Mr. Moore.
Nylene Canada's site in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada, has successfully operated the longest continuously running nylon 6 depolymerization facility in North America for over 40 years, converting nylon 6 waste back into caprolactam, its main building block. The site processes nylon type 6 waste and turns it back into brand new products, offering true closed-loop recycling without any loss of properties or quality, over and over again.
One of the most important steps in carpet reclamation takes place at the initial stage: the collection of post-consumer carpet at the end of its useful life. Nylene is pleased to work in partnership with Min-Tech Inc., a recycler of all grades of plastics centered in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada, to reclaim post-consumer carpet for the NATIQ 360TM Recycling Program.
Nylene's partnership with Min-Tech has made access to reclamation and recycling much easier and more cost-effective for its Canadian consumers. Nylene also currently works in partnership with Columbia Recycling in Dalton, Georgia, USA, to provide the same level of reclamation services to American consumers.
"We recognize our special responsibility to the environment and we are involved on many fronts. In addition to developing sustainable products and processes, we are constantly looking for ways to increase the efficiency of our operations and to minimize the impact our corporation has on the earth," concludes Mr. Moore.
It's more than just a matter of good environmental stewardship – it's good business as well.
