Nood Partners with Nylene Canada
Dalton, GA – January 22, 2007
In celebration of the first anniversary of its brand launch, Nood Floorcovering has debuted nine products created through a new partnership with Nylene Canada
In the summer of last year, Nylene, a subsidiary of Polymeric Resource Corporation , began promoting their new yarn system, NATIQ EnviroWork 30, on its benefits of performance and environmental responsibility to the commercial market. The yarn, one of the NATIQ line of commercial and residential fibers, contains 30% recycled content nylon 6, while using a unique five-dye affinity process along with diverse luster, ply and heat-setting options to create a wide variety of styling options that meet today’s demanding workplace requirements.
"NOOD is built upon a commitment to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible," said NOOD founder Bo Barber. "There can be no separation of what is good for business and good for the environment; as we often say; sustainable practices are our only practice. So when a wonderful system like NATIQ EnviroWork 30 becomes available, we bring it into our family of products, in order to bring it to our customers."
The new patterns created with NATIQ 30 are:

As with all NOOD carpets, the products are tufted as white carpet, then piece dyed for an exact match to a designer’s color choice. NOOD’s precision matching enables the company to retail minimal inventory, rather than thousands of yards tufted and waiting in warehouses in the hopes that it will be purchased, while providing better flexibility to designers. Backing is NOOD’s standard high performance backing system, BioCel ™, which includes reprocessed coal ash and polymers made from American grown soybeans, a renewable resource.
About NATIQ
NATIQ is a new family of commercial and residential post-dyeable carpet fibers and styling yarns created by Nylene Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Polymeric Resource Corporation (PRC), which is headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey, is an established manufacturer of polymers, nylon compounds, custom resins and engineered plastics.
NATIQ branded BCF nylon is renewable nylon 6 manufactured at Nylene’s facility in Arnprior, Ontario, in a closed loop, fiber-to-fiber recycling manufacturing process that is currently the only depolymerization facility for recycling of Nylon 6 in North America.
Don Nicholas, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Nylene’s Arnprior, Canada facility, states "the NATIQ brand name may be new to the marketplace but it has a tradition of years of integrity and proven quality. We are currently the only facility that is depolymerizing nylon and have for over 40 years. We have a long history of innovation and environmental practices."
Nylene’s state of the art facilities produce market-leading products with optimal style, guaranteed performance and environmental leadership.
About NOOD Floorcovering
NOOD Floorcovering is a fresh look at commercial carpet. We listen and offer what designers want rather than trying to make them like what we have stocked in the warehouse.
